I have made some calls in Germany on Thursday, around the whole country. I was lucky: In one store an ordered camera was canceled a moment before my call - so now I'm waiting for the post man.

 

My advice: Call smaller stores in your country, having less orders than the big dealers. It is possible to get a M10, really.

Tempting, but looks a bit dodgy to me - the serial no has been obscured, the instruction booklet is for a 35 lux, there is no 'reply to ad' button or phone no - and why would you go to all the trouble of getting an M10 so early in the game and then sell it at a loss? It may be an uncharitable thought , but is there any way of finding out if an M10 has been stolen?

There is a Dr. Hashim in London.  You can find via Google.   It would fairly simple to call him.  If it isn't him then it is a scam.

i spoke to the Leica store in LA...gentleman said they were getting in "2 or 3" each week...he said there were about 100 people ahead of me on the wait list..he said to check back in 1 month and he'd have a better idea of how deliveries are coming along.

I just spoke with an Adorama Customer Service rep about my order for a black M10, which I placed on Jan. 19th. She wasn't very helpful. She had no estimate for a shipping date. She also couldn't tell me if Adorama had received any M10s at all since my order. She couldn't even tell me how many people were ahead of me on the waiting list. The only thing she could tell me was that so far they had received a total of 42 orders for the black M10. If I had to guess, I'd say there are probably around a dozen people ahead of me on their waiting list. But that's only a guess.

This is very similar to my calls with Adorama. The only difference is that you were successful in getting them to divulge more info.

I can't believe she told you that number. Of all the things to tell you, that would be the number I would not want out if I were Leica or Adorama. It seems after looking at the spreadsheet everyday that B&H is still fulfilling the first day of orders. Dang. Really wishing they would get a big shipment.

Yes. 42 is amazingly low from point-of-view. Would love to know b&h's number.

Ordered last week (black M10 with Summilux 50mm and Macro Adapter) on Thursday at Leica Dubai. Got a call today that they'll receive new stocks on Saturday and I can pick it up next Sunday

With a new M10 in hand following a 6 week wait from date of order, I'm glad I chose The Leica Store in Washington DC.  Maybe those Leica boutique stores do have some priority in getting shipments over the giant chains like B&H.
