Guest VVJ Posted January 27, 2017 Share #21 Posted January 27, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) The GPS is very useful for road trip photography. I don't use LR and i am also not really sure what the best way is to see the data. I typically upload the pictures in Photo (Mac) and then click on the Info button. It shows the city, state, country where the picture was taken plus a map with the exact location.
Advertisement Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Hi Guest VVJ, Take a look here Visoflex - no GPS recorded. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Mehari89 Posted January 28, 2017 Share #22 Posted January 28, 2017 I I live in NYC and today I had not a single picture with GPS data Pure GPS receivers need to see far more of the sky than the bit straight above you to get a fix. Once you get amongst buildings of more than a few stories they simply cannot cope. If you are amongst skyscrapers forget it. Unlike an iPhone they do not pull in WiFi transmitter locations to assist the fix (as far as I know). I use a dedicated hiking GPS a lot when I am travelling but if I am going to a city like New York I don't even consider taking it along.
