I just did a sensor check on my M9 and I thought I saw dust and tried wet cleaning but was not able to remove them.

Is this the corrosion problem so I will need to contact Leica AG and send in the camera for sensor replacement?

Thanks to advise.

I sent in my camera on Jan 18th. DHL tracking shows it has been received by Leica Camera AG on Jan 23rd. But when I checked with Customer care, they claimed it was delivered to German Customs in Dillenburg on Jan 23rd and will send me a receiving confirmation after it is received in their system. It has been 2 weeks and Customer care is still saying it is still with German Customs in Dillenburg.

Tracking provided by Leica Customer Care:

Anyone else went through similar experience and what did you do to resolve? I have initiated a trace with my Post Office.

Not sure this is the right place to post this if not then perhaps a mod can move it.

I was in Wetzlar last week on my anual pilgrimage and took the opportunity to have my ME checked by customer services at the factory.

It took about 30 minutes and was returned to me with a clean bill of health (NO sensor corrosion,) the sensor cleaned, and the software updated to the latest version. No charge at all.

There was also a rather interesting display of Leica copies in the reception area.

Allways nice to visit the factory and see the latest exhibition in the foyer and browse the shop.
