Minolta Chiyoko 3.5cm F3.5, in Leica Thread Mount. This lens was introduced in 1956, this one probably manufactured in 1957.

This is a 4-element in 3 group lens, similar to a Leica 3.5cm 3.5 Elmar and Nikkor 3.5cm F3.5.

It features double-coated optics, named "Achromatic Coated" by Minolta. It is reputed to be the first lens brought to market with this new process. I suspect the simplicity and size of the optics went into that decision. It was not a popular lens due to the slow maximum aperture, and a couple hundred ever made. Most were in a proprietary mount for the Minolta Super.

Not enough space above to post the group portrait of Minolta Chiyoko LTM lenses above, I'll post some pictures taken with these in the future.

When lava started flowing down to the sea, the inhabitants of ancient Herculaneum had nowhere to go and got buried alongside their prized possessions.

Another uncommon lens, the Canon 50/2.2, manufactured for only 6 months. Maybe 3000 or so made, it was an economy lens with 5 elements. This is one of the first 100 made. These are wide-open. This lens is much better than the reputation. Big glass elements, I am guessing the lens used less expensive glass than the 50/1.8 and 50/1.4.

Somehow I've ended up with more than 100 lenses in Leica mount, the oldest being 1934.

Well, I'll try and do better posting this time.  This is a photo of my affordable Porsch Spyder aka porch spider taken with an M9, Viso III w/bellows handheld.  The Viso has a short mount 135m F:/2.8 Elmarit .  Hand held due to location on our front porch.
