reaching out

M240, 24mm

& Which 24 mm lens please, Albert?

Pete.

Hi - It's an Elmar-M 24mm Asph.   Interesting  - it is from a pre-series and the lens is great, differs a bit from others (the scale says 40cm closest ) .... On my first walk with the lens.

I feel there is a 'big' difference in handling in the few mm change of focal length from my 20mm, 21 mm and 28mm lenses.

Hi Albert,

I regret that the 24/3.8 Elmar-M asph doesn't qualify as "older glass" according to the opening post in this thread, which defines 'older glass' as "should not be the current model".

Pete.

Radial depth of field with a Summitar? Not sure how much is the lens, and how much is the fact that I have it mounted with the Leica Macro-Adapter-M. But since infinity is in focus, I think that theoretically the lens distance to sensor is the same, with the lens collapsed and the adapter partially extended. Just making things complicated for myself.

M10, 2/50mm Summitar (1950, 10-blade) with Leica Macro-Adapter-M meant for use with the 4/90mm Macro-Elmar

Okay, I've done the research, testing most of the available lenses and finalized few lenses which are handy for me on the M-System.
It's about time to escalate my learning curve to the next level now. I'll spend more time forming more objective photography and continue to enjoy random scenes around me.

Remark: heartfelt thanks for all the fellows here and it's been a pleasure to be the wingman with you.

Erato, I have enjoyed your research a lot and admire the results you have gotten and the meticulous patience you show towards getting optimum outcome, not just technical, but also story-wise. They are a true inspiration.
