I love my MP

Did you do that for the solitary framelines?

No, I found I'd always reach for my M2 rather than the MP. Then I realised that it must have been because I prefer the one stage shutter release of the M2. I also noticed that I tended to ignore the meter of the MP, going by my incident meter or sunny 16. Eventually I got to thinking that I didn't need to have £2000 tied up in a film camera. I sold my M6 and my MP, bought another M2 to compliment the M2 I had. Basically, I love my M2 :D

I have been silently admiring all the different MPs for quite a few years now, and finally have an image that I thought would be a worthy addition. Thanks to a friend who took this picture with his Epson.

What a great couple cameras you have and are a good compliment to each other. I used to have a similar black chrome MP. Though lens caps on camera porn just seems wrong to me! ;)

Why is there is logo dot on your MP? Did you stick one on or what's up with this version?

Hi Andy,

No, no special edition here. Just a black dot from Leitax. It is one of the actual dots that Leica used on the Millenium M6 TTL, and the M8.2. No reason it's there other than pure aesthetics.

Which do you prefer?

John

John,

It depends on the situation. As far as grip/case, I prefer the Leica grip. I very much like using it for walking around, and for holding the camera at eye level. Very comfortable, and effective for what it does. Highly recommended. The Luigi case provides excellent protection, I like it when taking photos in a more relaxed, slow-pace environment, but I find it very frustrating when I have to change film in a hurry. It doesn't come off easily. In addition, you have 2 things to hold onto while changing film (case + bottom plate).

As far as lenses, depends on the situation. Walking around in a crowded place with lots of light the tiny 28 Elmarit ASPH is a gem. But for everything else, the 50 Summilux ASPH is magical. I'm more of a 50 than a 28 person.
