Hi Arnaud

Yes that’s right :)  The lettering on back is blacked out and the baseplate is all black (including the release fastener)

That's exactly how mine looked like (including the all black bottom plate and black release) before I sent it back to get the classic engraving -- see earlier post). At the time I placed the order for it (it was a la cart) I inquired about a black hot shoe, and I was told it was an additional $750 for a black hot shoe and shutter release button rim (not the button itself). I thought that's a bit much and didn't do it. It would surely look good, but I didn't think it was worth it (after all, the only reason I did take the plunge for an a la cart one was to get the 0.58 viewfinder).

Just seen that the two shiny parts are black on my M-A 😄

I know now why I prefer M-A over MP,

I do have already the shiny part (shutter guard ring not black) on my BP M4, as said NOT a big deal, just kind of a "mistake".

Interesting info , thanks. Yes I’m not disappointed in the slightest with the silver trims, I like it and had a silver lens on the camera yesterday which looked very nice. I imagine you would always need to have silver lugs so they might also look a bit lonely on their own if everything else was blacked out :)

no doubt would look nice but can’t complain at all

69X: Nothing, I just wanted another one before the price increase in April 2022...

The 0.58 VF is really perfect for 35 and 28 focal lengths, not least because the 35mm framelines appear unaccompanied, like an M2. Wonderful.

My silver chrome 0.58 MP was regular production when I bought it (new, and hugely discounted) many years ago. It’s very special.

Just a quick note that I'm a few rolls in with my MP, and "I love my MP" !

My other film M's are M6 TTL & M6J.

I love the TTL.  It's a tank (or feels like one due to the very marginal size difference), but amazing all-rounder as I do use the TTL flash .

I love the M6J, it's slim (actually slimmer than the MP, and the same dimensions everywhere else) and seems more ergonomic, has more zip in the shutter button feel than the TTL (like driving an 60's Austin Martin versus the TTL's rangerover)

So a very close race but most of all I think I love my MP ....   has the slight ergonomic advantages of the M6J (over my TTL) , the viewfinder is just marginally more contrasty than both of my M6 variants , and the black paint just feels great !    I don't love the rewind crank, but have been using it in a reflective manner and reminiscing about how much I love my MP for the 5mins it takes me to rewind 😂😂

Happy customer just reporting ! :D

You need to explain to her that the correct number of cameras to own is N+1, where N is the number of cameras you currently own.

Is this the new Voigtlander 40mm?! Did you get it as LTM so you could get 35mm framelines or as a regular VM mount?

Yes, the new CV.  No, I did not want an LTM lens and prefer it showing the 50mm frame lines.  I just add a bit extra and this has worked perfectly.
