simonw4 Posted December 6, 2016 Share #1 Posted December 6, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just traded up my 1989 M6 for a new Monochrom; the sales person at the NYC Leica store assured me my default lens - a Made in Canada Summilux 35mm f1.4 (12504) was fully compatible...And then I turned to p143 of the users' manual to find that 'some versions' of this very lens either may not fit (mine does) and will not focus to infinity (mine seems to). The specific lens type doesn't seem to have a code. But the booklet says Customer Care can modify the lenses. All seems to work fine; but am I missing a problem that may become apparent as I become more familiar with the camera? And shouldn't the sales people have ben more candid? Advertisement Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Hi simonw4, Take a look here 'Made in Canada' Summilux 35mm 1.4 with Monochrom. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
BBHewee Posted December 6, 2016 Share #2 Posted December 6, 2016 You're fine with your Summilux, and you can choose the lens manually in the menu without needing to code it. From what I remember, the problems are actually far and few in between. The biggest issue was with collapsible lenses, and even those actually work.
