Guest VVJ Posted November 29, 2016 Share #1 Posted November 29, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anybody use the Image Stabilization feature on the Leica T. I thought I tried it in the beginning but found it to be not very effective. I was just reading the article below in which the author briefly talks about using the Image Stabilization feature for night photography: http://www.madeinwetzlar.com/traveling-through-italy-with-the-leica-t-system Perhaps I should give it another try... Volbeat Posted November 29, 2016 Share #2 Posted November 29, 2016 My previous system was Olympus M4/3. Now THAT had image stabilisation I agree the Leica T version is not very effective.
david strachan Posted November 29, 2016 Share #3 Posted November 29, 2016 My Fuji XE-1 with 55-200 mm lens is amazing at full zoom...very slow imaging, yet holds it sharpness. It is very very good. OTOH, I use my M's and just fit in...no image stabilization...but I don't seem to miss it. ...
tom0511 Posted November 29, 2016 Share #4 Posted November 29, 2016 I think to remember that it helped when using the 55-135, but I really have to check if I still have activated. We all know it is not hardware IS but maybe it still has some benefit for certain things.
Guest VVJ Posted November 29, 2016 Share #5 Posted November 29, 2016 (edited) My previous system was Olympus M4/3. Now THAT had image stabilisation I agree the Leica T version is not very effective. I have no experience with IBIS, only with the OIS of the SL 24-90 and that works exceptionally good I find. I have been shooting at 1/30s where I would normally be using 1/250s, so about a 3-stop gain, and with good results. As none of the T lenses have OIS hopefully true IBIS will find its way to the TL2... Edited November 29, 2016 by JorisV
