Advertisement Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Hi Lord Lucan, Take a look here 50mm f2 or 60mm f2.8 as fist/most used R lens ?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
TheBestSLIsALeicaflex Posted July 13, 2017 Share #22 Â Posted July 13, 2017 I've owned various 50mm Summicron R and 60mm Elmarits over the years. Â Both very good lenses. Â They say the 60 Elmarit is iconic, and every couple years I would acquire one -- up to three times -- but in the past I've let it go for the same reasons. Â Too slow, too heavy, and too short. Â The extra stop of speed of the Summicron is important for film use, and when paired with a wide angle lens the 60 doesn't fill the space of a short telephoto because it is too short. Â Two areas I found where the 60 Elmarit is ideal; macro (of course) and landscapes, otherwise, in my opinion, the 50mm Summicron is a better bet.
