Just took this picture with my 90/2.8 from the 60th. I had a good time alone in the woods, by my self. Waiting for the light. M10P with an ND filter.

Just a little more information. Wide open, 100 iso, nd 8. Elmarit 2.8/90 Leitz Wetzlar from 1960. Don't hesitate to buy one. I love mine. I also have the new 90/4, but you need both.

Dick, that is a nice 1959 90 Elmarit (v.1) picture.

However, for the audience at large, was this lens actually designed by Walter Mandler? Authoritative sources please, not "wikis".

Puts' Lens Compendium lists it as a Leitz Wetzlar design, not Leitz Canada, and its optical layout is more reminiscent of a Hektor- or Elmar-type than any layout Mandler used. It should be remembered that the seperate Wetzlar design office was still producing its own designs as late as 1988 (APO-Macro-Elmarit-R), and designed (per Puts) the 1981 90mm Elmarit-R later ported to M mount in 1991.
