Nice present Echo

I have a great wife, and we have an excellent relationship with the local leica boutique (been buying gear off them since 2000 - still using that first bit of gear too)

I don't know anything about Mandler lenses, or what to look for. But i like your picture. I think the fashion will go back to softer look and lower contrast, more dreamy. And more like a photograph than a graphic design...which still has its place of course.

Very nice and gentle...

This is so perfect! The tones, the lighting and compoition, the grain and the wonderful glow on the shirt. This is indeed some perfect Mandler magic.

Thanks a lot vanGeist and Dr Mandler !

M240 + Noctilux 1.0 (V4).

I sold this lens some time ago, but bought again one yesterday in an excellent condition and 6-bit coded from a very gentle forum member!
Looking forward to start shooting with a Nocti again later this week!

Here a pic from last year.

I like this thread! Let me share a picture taken in Edinburgh with my good old fat Tele-Elmarit 90mm, I liked the drawing and handling.

On top of the photo you see the typical dark band, most likely an internal reflection.

I never managed to find out when this band would appear, it has spoiled quite a few photos and slides.

This picture is from June 1975 and the film is FP4.

The 180 Apo Telyt was designed and built in Midland for the US Military.

Later it was made available to the general pubic as a production lens.

It out resolved any available film at the time, I was told by a Midland representative at the time that wide open it resolved 300 lines/mm at the centre.

Yes it was designed for infinity use from aircraft for surveillance activities.

However while it may not be the best lens for macro applications, for general shooting it is hard to beat, especially at the prices it sells for today.

Being very compact is an added bonus.

Mine is going nowhere!!
