Coffee and camera: Open thread

Aha now i understand, the receipt here is from Luxembourg and I was forced to have a americano, instead of filter coffee.

The explained that the weather was to rainy and perhaps to cold. but when the weather is fine there is filter coffee ..

I think they actually was saying the Luxembourgian people have to wear their socks during nasty weather.

Maybe I could be thankful to the bad weather. :p

( Yes this story is true except that they emphasis that the reason to not making filter coffe was just the weather).

PS: Still remember this Luxemboug meeting with great Joy..

"Well, that's a good bill.  I've tried to get Americanos in Adelaide, on the rare occasions Trish can drag me out.

The Baristas just look at me, and I have to explain..Si, so, um....I'll just have an espresso (but warm the cup)"

I´m thinking of go to the Australian challenge next year, but it seems like I have to bring some extra socks with me.

And two pictures from Peth , Fremantle  at the other end of Australia from 1997, I remember they had quite good black coffee/americana. M6, 35 summicron.

Coffee shop Chenzhou, Hunan, PRC, from a few years back.

Chenzhou is a dinky little town of about 2M in the middle of nowhere. For some reason coffee shops and Western-Style pastry were (are?) the hot things over there. Which is even more surprising since this is one of the tea and rice growing regions of the country.

Stand in line to get a table...

Here's my 'snapshot' offering. On the table 'as is', at home. Strong French in a cup hand made by a friend in Dublin (with cat decoration ;) ), slightly battered M9 with 21SEM and (already brassing around the edges :o ) current viewfinder and MacBookPro with the Leica Forum on it. Taken on a 75 Summilux of course ;) . What could be better :) ?

I bought one of those things and used it for about a dozen times. It's been sitting in the cupboard ever since!

I really took to it! Recently I've been using my V60 more, it does give a more robust cup. Depends on my mood though.

I've been looking into an Oomph which is a bit like a travel mug with built in aeropress which looks interesting!

I only take one camera with me when I go out for coffee, so I can't have the camera in the photo.
