Robert M Poole Posted November 6, 2016 Author Share #4 Posted November 6, 2016 That's not your usual standard Robert. But, "Coffee and your Camera" is a great idea...make it an open post. all best.. I see what you mean about this shot. I shot wide open, focusing on the coffee and I should have stopped down more to get more of the shot in focus. Thanks for the critique, I'm always learning

Exodies Posted November 6, 2016 Share #6 Posted November 6, 2016 I thought that if I used the timer and quickly set the camera in the scene I could get a shot of cuppa and camera but it didn't work. So, this was taken after lunch with my phone. Welcome, dear visitor! Exodies Posted November 6, 2016 Share #17 Posted November 6, 2016 (edited) Is it out of focus to reflect how you saw the scene after a few glasses of wine with dinner? Unfortunately not. The auto focus on my iPhone is stuck at about 15cm. Time to buy a new one.ETA: just discovered there is a free replacement camera from Apple (6+ model) Edited November 7, 2016 by Exodies

Hope other people contribute. www.robertpoolephotography.com I notice you have a Villeroy and Boch wave coffee set. The piece of the saucer sticking out on the left is supposed to hold a couple of chocolates...
gbealnz Posted November 7, 2016 Share #19 Posted November 7, 2016 I have a decent coffee machine, for a Kiwi that is, and enjoy a decent brew each day. I'll post a shot in the coming days. The post by "Exodies" however had me thinking to ask. When we were in Europe in 2013, we visited quite a few places, Paris, Ax en Provence, Florence, Rome etc. Somewhere on the travels I saw (maybe I used in buying an espresso, not sure) a very nice small cup and saucer, the cup was similar to the smallish espresso size I already have, but the saucer was a different shape, very striking and unusual. I'm sure it has a set-in section where the cup sat, then a small curved area where possibly the spoon sat, or possibly accompaniments like a biscuit or chocolate? It certainly wasn't circular or even squared off like the blue one Robert posted above.I'd dearly love to see another and buy a couple. If anyone has ideas of what I am trying to describe, please PM me, so as to keep this thread uncluttered. Gary
gbealnz Posted November 7, 2016 Share #20 Posted November 7, 2016 So, I got off my chuff, and with a wink to RFF, took another shot of the coffee machine, and of course a Leica. Just to get really nostalgic, I used my old ancient Leica Digilux 4.3. Gary Welcome, dear visitor!
