If not said before, I never use the very nice hood delivered with the Summaron-M.

So nicely built that it almost double the light 28mm weight.

The front lens is so small and recess far inside that the mount acts as "very effective shade".

Even the metal cap is over-built, I've found  (very hard to have  " practical plastic cap" of this E34 size ) a plastic cap substitution = "Asahi opt. co." body cap from Pentax Spotmatic 😇

Even this kind of cap ...some don't fit well and fall in use, I think that the precision in size varies over time.

I also never use the hood on this lens. Too cumbersome to put on and I do not think it is necessary. :)

Ah, nice to know I'm not the only one not using the hood although I use the nice lens cover. I should look for a cheap plastic alternative as I don't want to lose the nice cover...

Ernest, I really like this one !

Best, JM.

Thanks so much for your feedback, but this is a GOOF on my part, since it's not a Summaron-M shot; I tried to delete it, but it got gobbled up before I could edit it with "To and Fro" I shot at a farmer's market in Hanalei, Kauai.

great to see .. I have been tempted too - no issues between the step up ring and filter? Did you also try adding a polariser?

I haven't made any shot with that by now. Just received the step up ring today. But I think it should work fine. I'll let you know how it works when I have some time to make a few pictures.

thank you - would love to try the same combo for B&W landscapes. Fingers crossed!
