The Portuguese writer that I've been trying to decipher is António Lobo Antunes. I was reading his Fado Alexandrino. He out-Faulkner Faulkner: in on sentence he changes the speaker three times! Reading the English translation, but only got through ⅓-rd of it. I wonder if he's easier to read in Portuguese, que é uma língua que eu falo. There's an excellent article on him in the New Yorker.

Have been playing guitar more than taking photographs but am getting out more of late.

A couple of digital photos from Smardale Gill in Cumbria.

Superb shot, Ian. I think this lens flares less, and more pleasingly,  than many more modern computations for some reason.

Yes, for sure. I think it might be the lack of aspherical surfaces and a small fastest aperture (most of my flare-prone lenses have been modern asphericals, fast lenses or both).

Very nice shots... I love the top one.

Glad to see this thread has made it through another winter. I spent most of the dark months with the Thambar firmly attached to my MP but I think it's about time to dust off the Summaron and give it a little spring outing 🙂

This Summaron-M flares less than most of my WA lenses.

When it flares, it's very pleasant way 👌

Those of you presenting these great images, anyone who can confirm a rumour that the knob of the lens will hit a half-case like the ones by Luigi?

It does not hit the Leica half-case for the M10 nor does it hit the Luigi-version with flap door (which does not really fit the camera's back screen, that's the reason I got the Leica one).

Though I use the old original screw-mount version of the Summaron, which might slightly differ from the modern M-version.
