Photographic Chemical Supplies in Netherlands

Hi Henry,

I know macodirect. I want to purchase crude chemicals for "non-commercial" recipes. For my science, I can order chemicals from Sigma or Merck, but not for my personal use. There should be a dealer somewhere in the country that supplies those chemicals.

Yigit , here with fast delivery

... for basic chem. may be someone here will tell you

Best

H.

Yigit, the problem is that it is difficult for a particular to buy. These products are toxic.
You can order from manufacturers like Sigma but you have to order a lot and I think that is regulated.

I develop myself b&w and color film and already it amounts to me  cheaper with products packaged

by Kodak (D76) or Ilford (Ilfosol) .
For color film it costs me around 2 Euros/roll development of Portra instead of 7 Euros.
For b&w it's still cheaper
To see if it's worth or not , but these are products which can degrade with time if poorly preserved.

Hi again.

Actually the price is not important and indeed commercial products are cheaper. I just would like to try other recipes available in literature. I am chemist so I am more interested in experimenting on those kind of things.

And by the way, as far as I know, you cannot order from Sigma for personal use. They deliver only to company addresses.

We have some non commercial o.s. products in our program. PC-TEA, Pyrocat-HDC etc. Chemicals are coming from Ukraine or Germany. But you need a valid VATnr. and rely on safety as company. Some ingredients can be very toxic especially in powder form. As private person you even can not order them anymore due to new EU regulations.

Hello Yigit,

You could try to get in touch with this camerashop/dealer. I am certain they can help you. They are the specialists concerning your needs.

Best regards,

Kamiel

I'm not aware that Foto den Boer sell loose chemicals, I think they only sell preprepared commercial products.

eBay (yes, seriously) is a very good source for chemicals to make your own developers although you will have to accept buying from other European countries. A friend of mine makes his various Pyro recipes all from eBay sourced chemicals that are far easier to find than through conventional photographic suppliers, and although some of the rare ones are sometimes back ordered or temporarily unavailable they always turn up.
