Peter L Posted September 23, 2016 Share #1 Posted September 23, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I always enjoy reviewing the image threads, mostly the Q as I have one, also the M and SL image threads. Frequently I wonder where a particular image was taken or how or what time of day or with which parameters if it was a difficult shot , this may not be applicable for every image and some images are self explanatory. Some of us include information, others do not. For me it would be more interesting or enjoyable if more information was included.
Advertisement Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 Hi Peter L, Take a look here W5, 4, 3 or 2 in the Image threads. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Leica Guy Posted September 24, 2016 Share #2 Posted September 24, 2016 I agree Peter. It would be a real improvement if people included more about location and settings. Part of helping us learn what works.
marchyman Posted September 25, 2016 Share #3 Posted September 25, 2016 (edited) Some of us include exif/iptc info in the images we post. Then you can use a tool such as the ExifExt extension to Safari on the Mac that lets you read the exif info. Example from a recent picture I posted to the Q image thread: Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Some of the info is useful, some not so much. I use Cmd-E to bring up the exif info window. My desire is for more people to not strip exif info. Herve5 Posted September 30, 2016 Share #5 Posted September 30, 2016 (edited) in addition to the above, let's mention there is a similar extension for Firefox (in fact, there are various ones), presumably cross-platform...
