This requires a Goverment that is supportive of this and thinks deeply about how to create the conditions in society for this to occur. To a large degree misery in family life is good for business and many goverments in the world actively support the disintegration of the family. With every divorce, lawyers get paid, courts get paid, houses have to be sold and bought which in Australia if close to 50% of people are getting divorced it is a real money spinner for the Goverment when houses are sold as they take massive amounts of stamp duty. It Spurs the economy as two sets of furniture has to be purchased and so on. But back from the very boring to me world of drugs, bums and dysfunction and onto the objects of my desire The Leica M and the legend of sofort and the artistically beautiful derrière. Briefly since as you say it's way OT: I see very little correlation between drug use and the stability and closeness of family background. I believe it's a far more complex matter than that, as is alcohol use. The line between use and abuse is not something that can simply be measured in units of happiness. Statistically speaking, inner city folks are far more likely to be addicted to drugs. Those same people are primarily raised by single parent households with varying conditions. In general, if drugs and alcohol are prominent in a family, very easily a social factor, it tends to follow generation after generation. There is certainly a correlation unless I am misunderstanding your point. M28 is absolutely correct in his statement that many governments thrive and in fact take steps to widen the poverty gap as it benefits them. I was disappointed that it was such a minor improvement on the M9 and yet the price escalated dramatically. I was delighted at the arrival of the M APO-Summicron 50mm f2. and waited for a much improved iso camera that was not the M240 with a big sensor full of megapixels so that I could see wall sized photographs using my projector. I have been waiting patiently for Photokina 2016 to see the new M and to order it. and what did I get? I got offered a sofort A glorified Polaroid camera. WHY, WHY LEICA ? Why do you do this to me? You used PHOTOKINA to announce a camera that was used primarily to photograph nudie shots that you never had to send to the labs for developing. Champion move.
