mirekti Posted September 9, 2016 Author Share #3 Posted September 9, 2016 (edited) I think it could also be an interesting lens to use with OUFRO. Edited September 9, 2016 by mirekti

mirekti Posted September 11, 2016 Author Share #5 Posted September 11, 2016 (edited) Did you set some lens profile manually or this is without any profile? Edited September 11, 2016 by mirekti
pico Posted September 11, 2016 Share #6 Posted September 11, 2016 (edited) Has anyone had a chance to use this lens and share some shots and/or thoughts? Yes, and I posted an example of its output from ACR to a final rendering, a process that took a minute. A tip: use no lens profile, but in ACR accept the 15mm VC or no correction at all (I chose no correction) for charming vignetting. (Thank you to our member Vieri) Here is one with no correction. It is a good starting point. Search this site for more definitive examples. I am much happier with the 10mm than the 15mm and I have owned all versions of the 15mm. This image does, of course, suffer from down-sizing and no sharpening. Please search this site for 'Vieri" who has generously contributed to the lens subject. The childs' playhouse here was only about 5 or 6 feet from the camera and I was kneeling so that the center of the image was about 3 feet from the ground, otherwise you would see my feet. fotomas Posted September 11, 2016 Share #7 Posted September 11, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Did you set some lens profile manually or this is without any profile? No - just the way it came out of the camera (M240, C1).
michaelwj Posted September 12, 2016 Share #8 Posted September 12, 2016 Holy WIDE. WOW! This is just so wide, it hurts my head a bit. I like (love) wide angles, but I'm at a loss with what I'd point this leas at, it is so insanely wide.
IWC Doppel Posted September 13, 2016 Share #9 Posted September 13, 2016 I really like wide angles as well but other than a 15mm for architectural interiors I wouldn't want to go wider. I did have a 12mm and that was just too much in terms of changing the perspective I find much over 21 the world looks very different and the tendency to exaggerate proportions increases rapidly Nice to be able to take a shot in a confined space but I really dislike the fact that your cloakroom looks more like a ballroom with something like a 10mm. For me it's a novelty lens only as the perspective is so distorted
pico Posted September 13, 2016 Share #10 Posted September 13, 2016 I really like wide angles as well but other than a 15mm for architectural interiors I wouldn't want to go wider. I did have a 12mm and that was just too much in terms of changing the perspective It could be sample variation, but I find the 10mm better corrected in terms of chromatics than the 15mm VIII. Distortion? Amazingly well controlled when properly used. I crop to 15mm if necessary.
fotomas Posted September 15, 2016 Share #11 Posted September 15, 2016 Here an example where you can see the distortion a bit better. Only handheld. Not perfectly aligned. Welcome, dear visitor! rizla603104 Posted November 19, 2017 Share #13 Posted November 19, 2017 I had a question relating to the 10mm ultra wide. Did you use the built in viewfinder or an external? If internal what anchor points do you rely on?
fotomas Posted December 1, 2017 Share #14 Posted December 1, 2017 I mostly use liveview on my M 240. With my M6 I use the old external viewfinder for the 12 mm VC version 1.
pico Posted December 1, 2017 Share #15 Posted December 1, 2017 (edited) I had a question relating to the 10mm ultra wide. Did you use the built in viewfinder or an external? If internal what anchor points do you rely on? I use the 10mm with Leica M9 and M7 with Voigtlander external viewfinder and they are right-on accurate. Anchor points in an external VF? Your brain and experience. Indispensable. . Edited December 1, 2017 by pico
frame-it Posted December 2, 2017 Share #16 Posted December 2, 2017 its should be nice in a 1:1 format on the SL Holy WIDE. WOW! This is just so wide, it hurts my head a bit. adan Posted December 3, 2017 Share #17 Posted December 3, 2017 (edited) The 10mm is designed like the V.III 15mm - a "miniature" SLR lens rather than a traditional RF wideangle. I haven't tried the 10mm myself, but as you say, the 15mm v. III shows virtually no color drift or "red edge" with regards to the whole frame. Fotomas' first 10mm image seems to show perhaps a microscopic red stain down the right side, but it doesn't show up in the second image. This picture shows the 10mm alongside the 12mm and the very similarly-sized v.III 15mm https://cameraquest.com/jpg3/voigt_10M_03c.jpg The 10mm, as can be seen in Pico's shot, seems to show a lot of lateral chromatic aberration - red/cyan edges to individual details like tree branches/leaves - but that's a different issue from red/purple stains all down the sides.
