is it possible to fit a polarizing filter on d lux 4?  Ø 44 mm.

They are quite scarce these days, but there is an extension tube that screws onto the camera that will accept a 52mm filter. I found mine on eBay. Without that there is no way to attach a filter.

I have a Lensmate adapter and it takes a 46mm filter.  They may be hard to find by now and you may have to do some searching.   https://lensmateonline.com/
