Perfect b&w shot of sincere youngsters!

Thank you for your positive comment. I felt that this was a 'colour' event and the other shots I took will stay in colour (please see 'The Red Hair' in my posts for example. However this one was certainly right for b&w in my opinion.

Thanks again!

fantastic capture. the shyness of the guy made the shot in my humble opinion, had he paused like his friends, the shot would have lost it's impact. This is a Top-Street shot.

Thank you so very much Rodrigue. You are, of course, absolutely right. I have a couple of shot of the two girls by themselves, but this is THE shot.

Agree with all the other comments - and I love the inclusion of the dog in  the background, which adds that inconsequential something.

Thank you Sam. I had thought about taking them out, but I like the full frame and agree with you.

Back in  1997 and again in 2000 I took part in workshops/retreats organised by the New Hampshire Society of Photographic Artists on a small group of islands called the Isles of Shoals off the coast of New Hampshire. I was the only "outsider" there, being from England. The trip was extended both times to make the travel worthwhile. I shot mostly black and white using Kodak T400CN so I could get it processed locally and not worry about x-ray damage at the airport. In 1997 I used an M3 and in 2000 it was an M6.
I have recently been invited my the Portsmouth Athenaeum to add my images to their archives of the area for posterity, and have gladly accepted as i consider it an honour. There is a lot of work involved scanning negatives and spotting etc. but there are also a lot of memories.
You can see some of the work on the portfolio page of my website, please take a look, or there is a taster attached from 1997. Who knows, one day it may be an exhibition!

We know that Leica M9 was launched 09.09.09 ... at such a nice period.
For me this first digital full frame Leica has won Collector Status.
I still use it, and the images from this old friend are great, even with today's standard.

This is from old Kodachrome slide
taken some years back in Colmar
scanned with M9, macro 50mm lens on bellows,
then only need some dust cleaning, resize for LUF
      nothing more needed !

I am slowly managing to get out more now, ands back in my usual coffee shop yesterday. I couldn't resist taking a candid image of this young lady at the counter because of her height. She must have been about 1.8 metres.
      Leica M240 + 35mm Summarit f2.5 @ 1250 iso. 1/250 @ f2.8 and post-processed in Lightroom Classic.
