Snooopy Posted August 21, 2016 Share #1 Posted August 21, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, I have once constructed a protector for the diopter correction and built this example in yellow plastic. Next week I will get a black plastic, than I will upload an example. The part is printed with a 3D printer, if anyone needs one you can send me a PM. Best wishes Lukas Welcome, dear visitor! beez Posted August 21, 2016 Share #2 Posted August 21, 2016 Here's what I did to solve this problem. I adjusted the diopter to my eye's liking, then dabbed a small dot of a brightly colored nail polish at the 3 o'clock position so I could tell if it had changed, and if so, I could quickly return it to the correct position.
Speenth Posted August 23, 2016 Share #3 Posted August 23, 2016 (edited) Just a tiny blob of Sugru should do the trick! If you've never used the stuff, prepare to become obsessed - go here: https://sugru.com It sticks determinedly, but can be prised off easily at any time in the future, leaving not the slightest trace. Simply amazing and almost any colour you like. Edited August 23, 2016 by Speenth
gazza19 Posted August 28, 2016 Share #4 Posted August 28, 2016 I have been using a piece of black electrical tape but have just ordered some Sugru, seems ideal cheap solution.
reynoldsyoung Posted August 29, 2016 Share #5 Posted August 29, 2016 (edited) A "Thumbs Up" protects the wheel really well. Touch to move the wheel with a "Thumbs Up" on the Q. Edited August 29, 2016 by reynoldsyoung
Jed Orme Posted August 30, 2016 Share #6 Posted August 30, 2016 A "Thumbs Up" protects the wheel really well. Touch to move the wheel with a "Thumbs Up" on the Q. +1 to this suggestion, which I adapted after discovering that wearing the Q around my neck with a jacket or other bulky clothing invariably resulted in changing the diopter setting. Actually I bought the Thumbs Up for a better grip on the camera & it was an unintended benefit!
