Does anybody know if the lcd display is the same on panasonic Lumix LX7 or LX8?

If you look the specs they seem to be the same: 1040k, touchscreen, 3 inch. We know that Panasonic and Leica collaborate a lot.

I ask you because today a broke my lcd and I know that warranty is invalidated.

I spoke with a repair company in my town and the can repair it if I provide the LCD and Leica Wetzlar will not sell parts.

If you are determined not to have it repaired at Wetzlar, then I would at least use a Leica specialist who may be able to obtain the correct and genuine LCD unit.  Contact Aperture uk and ask for their advice.

good luck.

Lucerne, thank you for your answer and recommendation.

I spoke with the service but, unfortunately, they do not carry out this kind of repair and they have no idea what kind of lcd Leica q has.

Another camera service proposed me to open the camera just to look for the screen model....

Did Leica promise you that, or did your dealer promise you that? In all the times I have sent cameras to Leica for repairs I have never been given such a short and specific time frame. I had my Q in for repair in November last year. It took three months! But I hope you get it back soon. Everyday without the Q is a day lost :)

That what the dealer said to make me happy but It will last at least a month.

Meanwhile I found out the exact model of the LCD used in the camera. You can find it on other cames too... and it is not that complicated to change it but you invalidate the warranty.
