stevme Posted June 6, 2007 Share #1 Posted June 6, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am trying to decide between purchase of the 12 mm CV lens and the 15 mm CV lens. Would someone be so kind as to post images from each lens? I am trying to get an idea of what the field of view is when used on the M8. I am concerned that the 15 MM lens, which is faster, may not be sufficiently wide enough. I am looking to use the wider lens for interiors and crowd shots. Any other comments about the lenses, including using them with the IR cut filters, would also be appreciated. I have already consulted Sean Reid's reviews. Thanks Steve

jflachmann Posted June 6, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 6, 2007 I took some images in the city centre of my hometown Bielefeld in Germany with my M8 and a CV 15 a few weeks ago. Posted them in the german photo forum: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/architektur/23386-etwas-altstadt-mit-voigtlaender-4-5-a.html#post244973

Joe Mondello Posted June 6, 2007 Share #5 Posted June 6, 2007 OK here are 2 shots with the CV 15 on an M8. The exterior of the Time Warner Center is un-manipulated, the interior of the Time Warner Center is a composite of two exposures and adjusted for perspective distortion in PS CS2. larger versions are here . . . It's essentially the equivalent of a 20 in 35mm terms.
jlm Posted June 6, 2007 Share #6 Posted June 6, 2007 now if you had just shown a photo of the 58th st side of time-warner you would have seen my 50' planter wall.
SteveP Posted June 6, 2007 Share #7 Posted June 6, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've posted this shot previously but here goes again. CV15 on the M8 (Irish brewpub in London). I have both the 12 and 15 and while the 12 may be a touch sharper, it is more difficult to use and physically larger. Welcome, dear visitor! sps Posted June 6, 2007 Share #11 Posted June 6, 2007 I own the CZ viewfinder, but don't use it. Just keep the 12 mounted & let her rip. Crop later. This has the accessory filter holder (77mm) and a 486 slim line B&W mounted. Here is a storm picture. I have the LT-M8 adapter coded as a 16mm lens by the way. Welcome, dear visitor! sean_reid Posted June 7, 2007 Share #18 Posted June 7, 2007 What viewfinder would you use for the 15mm, and the 12mm lenses? 12 - use a 15 mm finder or the WATE finder set to 16 15 - use a 21 mm finder I discuss the finder options in some detail in my review of ultra-wide RF lenses. Cheers, Sean
