I don't want to disturb this thread and talk about the S but take a look at my two albums on Flickr one with photos of the R8/DM-R and one of the S 006, see the resemblances in colour.

DM-R: https://flic.kr/s/aHsjJ8jcY9

View of the Cambridgeshire UK countryside (M11?)  from the rear passenger seat of a Duxford based DH 89 de Havilland Dragon Rapide - a 1930s plywood construction 8 seat passenger biplane many of which remained in service postwar and are still used as short haul pleasure flight aircraft. Camera lens was in close proximity to the perspex window.

Two more Duxford R9/DMR images taken using 28-90R lens.

attachicon.gifSpitfire-refuelling-rslf2.jpg

First the T9 Spitfire refuelling prior to a 20 minute flight with a passenger in the rear; flight costs £2995 which equates to £150 per minute - which reflects the cost of operating a historic Spitfire. The Dragon Rapide flight costs £39 per passenger but there are 8 passengers and maintenance costs are less.
