Thanks Bill, as you would imagine it is even more amazing in person, it is ideally situated by the river and so has never been affected by drought.

It is also sheltered from damaging winds by a nice little forest of related species, so it has been able to grow very large and, though it must be very old,

it is not showing any of the signs of the general wear and tear that one would expect of a eucalyptus of it's age and size. I'm glad you liked it!

Quite lovely.  I've never seen one like it in any of our travels in Oz.

 

Thanks Stuart....it is true that, of it's kind, this tree is uniquely large and outstandingly handsome!
