BillR Posted May 10, 2016 Share #1 Posted May 10, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello Leica Friends, (Hallo Leica Freunden) I recently purchased a mint condition 1994 Leica 180mm R f/2.8 (non APO) lens that looks as new. I use it on the Sony A7R Ii and am very pleased with the results. I do have a question since this is the only Leica lens I own. The aperture ring has slight movement vertically and horizontally but the clicks are precise and the lens works fine. Is this slight movement a concern? I read on the internet that another person had this issue and was told by a Leica dealer this is normal. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Bill

BillR Posted May 10, 2016 Author Share #3 Posted May 10, 2016 Hello wildlightphoto, thank you for the answer to my question. I took a few moments and looked at your bird photos which are spectacular! Bill
ewelch Posted July 28, 2016 Share #4 Posted July 28, 2016 I've owned a couple of those and it is indeed normal.
vvvvv Posted January 23, 2018 Share #5 Posted January 23, 2018 Is this something that can be easily fixed though? Unlike my other R lenses, my Macro Elmarit-R 60mm 2.8 has a similar loose/rattling aperture ring. I use the lenses for video work and the rattling noise is sometimes a problem.
