Advertisement Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 Hi hm1912, Take a look here Tintin and the Blue Lotus (sort of). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
vic vic Posted August 2, 2006 Share #2 Posted August 2, 2006 oh ilan, i really like it. i love the interactivity u create here - it looks liek fairy tale :-)))) guliver??? is it a hint???? the lighting from behind helps alot to give it dimention and adds to the feeling. about the negative - looks ok - although i dont really like evaluating quality of things from web pictures. anyway - the photo is great
hm1912 Posted August 2, 2006 Author Share #3 Posted August 2, 2006 Thanks a lot Victor! I just callibrated my monitor following your instructions. Thanks also for that. It's not Guliver, it's Tintin. I guess you aren't familiar with him. Check out Tintin.com But you realy should try to read some of the Tintin books (they're graphic novels). stuny Posted August 2, 2006 Share #4 Posted August 2, 2006 Ilan - Very imaginative, and appealing for its arrangement, angle, colors, focus and bokeh.

hm1912 Posted August 3, 2006 Author Share #6 Posted August 3, 2006 Thanks guys! These are the only types of "still life" photos I do. I take some Tintin figurines around and photograph them in various places. It's a bit tough though, because they are so small the background and/or surroundings need to be easily recognizable but it's really difficult to get any depth of field. jtharvie Posted August 3, 2006 Share #7 Posted August 3, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Great photo IIan, Please post more of these . . . it takes me back to my youth. Tintin was my favourite even though the only copies I had access to were in French . . . didn't matter Herge's art crossed the language barrier. Cheers, JTH
hm1912 Posted August 3, 2006 Author Share #8 Posted August 3, 2006 Thanks JTH. I've got some cool black and white ones of the moon rocket. I'll see if I can get them scanned.
