Advertisement Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 Hi lct, Take a look here Firmware-Update Leica M240 / M262 / Monochrom 246. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stephengv Posted July 4, 2017 Share #102 Posted July 4, 2017 Probably yes as long as the M240 is not discontinued but i would not hold my breath after that. So right now, the Leica M9 no longer receives any update for new lenses? Like the 28mm F5.
lct Posted July 4, 2017 Share #103 Posted July 4, 2017 True for M9 but M8/M8.2 haven't got firmware updates since 2014.
epand56 Posted July 14, 2017 Share #104 Posted July 14, 2017 I performed the upgrade and while the menu states my firmware is now 2.0.3.0, I've lost no user profile. They are still working as they were before. Is this a bad sign? Am I lucky?

TacoTaco Posted May 23, 2020 Share #106 Posted May 23, 2020 My definitive solution to the problem of "not finding the file", was to use a SD card of 64G (I was trying to do it with a 512G card and never worked).
jaapv Posted May 23, 2020 Share #107 Posted May 23, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) Were you really planning to put 15000 images on one card?
wlaidlaw Posted May 23, 2020 Share #108 Posted May 23, 2020 If you take video with the M240, it gobbles up SD card space very rapidly. Wilson
jaapv Posted May 27, 2020 Share #109 Posted May 27, 2020 Yes. But 512 GB?

Pro Res video is around 5.3GB/minute. However when you consider that the first storage card I bought for my Leica Digilux Zoom in 1999, was 64MB and it cost me around £100..........Things move on. I just bought a 256GB micro SD card for my audio streamer (a Chord Electronics 2Go) and it cost me just £34. juzMarc Posted July 4, 2020 Share #111 Posted July 4, 2020 Those with error messages stating that the file cannot be found, please note. When you use Disk Utility to format your SD card, make sure under the ERASE option, you are selecting ONLY the MS-DOS (FAT) option. Once done, download the firmware to the newly formatted SD card and you are good to go.

I think it is always a good idea to reformat an SD card in the camera, even after using Disk Utility or as I think better for SD cards, the SD card association's own app 5.0.1 (for Windows or Mac. The version for Linux Ubuntu seems to have vanished). Wilson
BlackPaint Posted July 22, 2020 Share #113 Posted July 22, 2020 (edited) the page from leica doesn't download as a FW file, but only the PDF to my computer. So apparently, I am not smart enough to either use or own a leica. I get it now. https://us.leica-camera.com/Corposite/Service-Support/Support/Downloads?category=93710&subcategory=93711&type=108942&language=93871 Edited July 22, 2020 by BlackPaint

One is the instructions that downloads as a pdf and the other is the firmware that downloads as the file you place on the sd card.
