wlaidlaw Posted April 29, 2016 Share #4 Posted April 29, 2016 Andreas, Many thanks for the "heads up" on that. At last after more than two years and many emails from me to Leica chasing this up, the GPS mistake has been corrected. I have to admit to using the SL so much recently, that I barely noticed the "battery out of date" message. Wilson
kkcsm Posted April 29, 2016 Share #5 Posted April 29, 2016 I'm curious about the "bug that led to black pixels in fine pattern". Is this referring to the banding that can occur when lifting shadows?

chris_tribble Posted April 29, 2016 Share #7 Posted April 29, 2016 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Excellent - for information, as the update wipes your preferences it can be convenient to export these to SD card and keep this card to one side (or copy to a computer). You can then go ahead and follow the firmware update instructions. Once installed, you can import your settings and get back to where you were before the update. I've just done this myself and it works... Hope this saves a few people a bit of time and frustration. jrh68uk Posted April 29, 2016 Share #8 Posted April 29, 2016 First thing I checked after installing this was whether they'd fixed the info display bug I reported to them some time ago. It's still there, unfortunately. I think that's two releases of firmware since I reported it.

mirekti Posted April 29, 2016 Share #10 Posted April 29, 2016 I skipped the previous update. Can I go directly to this one? There is no mention of this requirement in the installation guide.
pop Posted April 29, 2016 Share #11 Posted April 29, 2016 I skipped the previous update. Can I go directly to this one? There is no mention of this requirement in the installation guide. Yes, you can; at least, you always could so far, and if they don't say otherwise, I see no reason to assume otherwise.

samwells Posted April 29, 2016 Share #14 Posted April 29, 2016 Great…it works. Tho there seemed to be a lot of chess players taking over during the update process, which was rather worrying...
helged Posted April 29, 2016 Share #15 Posted April 29, 2016 Thank you crazy uncle Kaufmann! I'll try it out when on vacation in the Southwest... with my new 28 Summicron II. Rick ...and please report back about corner sharpness and, if any, miscolouring towards the edges/corners. Particularly the latter. Have fun shooting!
menos I M6 Posted April 29, 2016 Share #16 Posted April 29, 2016 Any changes to start-up / wake up times? Is the EV display still taking the viewfinder hostage, when EV is set?
LocalHero1953 Posted April 29, 2016 Share #17 Posted April 29, 2016 My M240 takes the same time from switch on to first shot: just under 2 secs. I haven't looked at wake-up times.

ho_co Posted April 29, 2016 Share #19 Posted April 29, 2016 Firmware is icumen in! Lhude sing cuckoo! But no mention of the time setting no longer being saved to the user profiles? :-(
Jon Warwick Posted April 29, 2016 Share #20 Posted April 29, 2016 Could be a daft question, but I've never updated my M240 since I got it in early '14. If I update it with today's new firmware, does it add in the other firmware update(s) I've skipped? The update where LV has the inbuilt horizon level could be very useful indeed (and my horizon level is still on a black screen!)!
