Yeah I noticed that too!

First day I got it I took it out on the m9, the next the 240, and although the images were of course m9/240 different, they were closer than if I’d done the same thing with say my 35 summarit

Makes that inevitable transition from a broken CCD to CMOS rangefinder invaluable I’d imagine.

I think (tongue in cheek) it's almost got to the stage that if you send your M9 to Leica to wipe a thumb print from the viewfinder they're probably going to tell you it's beyond repair and you need to buy an M10 😅

Mer de Glace near Chamonix.

M240 and M50 Summicron v5.

For this image, I had it printed to 20"x16" on Hahnemuhle fine art baryta, which has great depth for B&W

(ok so now you have to select the BBC from flickr, and whereas before you just pasted it here, now you paste it into a text editor, edit it to remove the parts the forum doesn't like, then paste it on here in the other media box. What a great functional change, fantastic, well done, bravo FFS)

Adam, apologies for more gear talk but in the spirit of YMMV and ‘it’s only a photograph’, you might wanna consider whether it’s worth it with your Leica lenses, so good are the images rendering from your Voigts/Planar collection with your M240 (and yes, it’s the photographer too).

Thank you very much Ray,

I've only ever sold one Leica lens (50mm cron V) and I miss it (it's why I bought the planar, I couldn't stretch to another cron) but the cron had to go to pay for the lux

My shot above this one is with the lux and it is pretty special IMO (the lens not the shot), so I think I'll keep that one.

I 'only' have 7 lenses (7a 50 1.1 which I grew out of, 35 rit, which I personally consider to be an inferior optic to the CV30/1.7, but the design is so much nicer, a 90 'rit which covers my twice a year need for a 90mm on an M, a 21 Zeiss for wide stuff and the two 50s lux and planar that are far enough apart in size, weight and rendering to justify keeping both)

Besides I have two bodies so double FLs makes man math sense!

If I lost it all and had to start over 😭 I'd probably not stray far from CV to be honest, they really seem to have gone up a gear in recent years and IMO offer great bang for the buck.

If the upcoming CV 35 APO performs anywhere near the Zeiss 35/1.4 (let alone the M 35 APO) it'll be a bargain
