cpclee Posted April 1, 2016 Share #1 Posted April 1, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is the last version of the 50/2.8 Elmar (1996-2006) safe to use on the SL? Meaning will the rear of the lens hit the sensor when the lens is collapsed? I tried looking for Leica's official recommendation.
Advertisement Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Hi cpclee, Take a look here 50/2.8 Elmar-M on the SL. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
thighslapper Posted April 1, 2016 Share #2 Posted April 1, 2016 (edited) It was a close run thing with the M ...... mostly the side clearance being the issue. Theoretically there should be no problem depth wise collapsing it whilst on the camera as the lens flange-sensor distance with the adapter on will be unchanged. It there is clearance for it to collapse into the adapter (and there should be plenty of room) then I don't think there is any concern. cpclee Posted April 2, 2016 Author Share #4 Posted April 2, 2016 And this means mounting/dismounting the lens with the lens extended/collapsed -- no issue at all? No problem with mine.
