Most of the viewers think it is a crop??? Yes, it is a crop of course, on the camera. The royal guard is a very serious person when on guard (duty). This guy was in a public place at the "Earls Scott" London where a door to the palace open. So few guards do a ceremonial duty at a door. The sun was setting down and he was in complete darkness his majestic holding the Royal sward was in contrast with the silky glows with the last ray of daylight. All I have imagined was his hold  of the sward and got closer to him made the photo. I felt his resistance and his some moments or breathing, but with a Leica that is the advantage. 

Normally it is an offense to distract them while duty.
