I just got hand on an M8, in this case with 21SEM and B+W 093 filter. After a little trial I have concluded that infinity is close to the 2 m mark on the lens, whereas focus at 2 m corresponds to about the 1.2 m on the lens...  ;) . Strong response from the foliage - even without direct sun.

The IR-response is fabulous. And if 093 (or filters with similar cut-offs) are deemed too strong, filters going into the deep red (092 and similar) can - of course - be used. I foresee M8+21SEM+029/093 to be my fun-'pocket'-camera for quite some time... Once appropriate focus scales have been estimated, M8 can be handheld with a sturdy hand, even at ISO 160, at least if several images are taken. For the last two images, the shutter was at 1/6 sec (at ISO160 and aperture 5.6), and 1 out of 3-4 images have no visible camera shake/blur. With ISO320 or 640, and/or f4, camera shake should be pretty much eliminated.

Another one, this time during a rainy evening. M8 + 21SEM w/B+W 093 filter. The reflected highlights on the road is from the headlights of an old car (presumably with an old-fashined, incandescent bulb), whereas newer cars with LED-lights hardly showed up at all. Not too surprising given the wavelength from the different light sources, but something that most of us doesn't think too much about in our daily life, for obvious reasons...

Playing ... water lily in IR-rendering. This time M8 + the marvellous Carl Zeiss 100mm f4 Macro S-Planar (mounted with Novoflex Viso II adapter + Macro-Adapter-M), w/B+W 093 filter. It's a little hard to nail the focus, but mounting the lens first onto the SL without the filter and thereafter on the M8 with the IR filter, and moving the M8 1-2 cm back, does the job (on tripod, obviously).
