Sharp in Lightroom, but not on camera monitor...

Hi folks,

 

Just got the SL. Fantastic machine. Built like a ROCK!

 

I've just played with it for an hour or so with my 50mm Summilux. 

 

I found it strange that when I review pictures, they are not sharp at all on the camera monitor (when I zoom in), but when I look at them in Lightroom they are incredible sharp.

 

What's happening?

Found out!

 

I had settings to DNG only. DNG + Jpeg is crystal clear!

The SL seems to handle files differently than either the M240 or the Q.  My SL test shots show up in Lightroom with a slightly different icon and references to something about "sidecar" JPGs.  I think they're somehow embedded into the DNG?  I really don't know.  But I guess Leica in their infinite wisdom decided to use JPG for in-camera review.  So if you're shooting DNG only I guess it's not resizing correctly?  I honestly don't know.  It's weird.

If you shoot DNG ONLY you will only have a low res preview available.
