Guest Alxndr Posted January 1, 2016 Share #1 Posted January 1, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Happy new year everybody. I'm planning a trip to Japan in the first weeks of april and would love to take the new TL 35mm summilux with me. We all know this lens is supposed to hit the market in this year's "spring". But does anybody have a more specific (preferably fact based ) clue when it will be available? Regards, Alexander

JPP1 Posted January 1, 2016 Share #2 Posted January 1, 2016 Hi Alexander, I found at least 2 sites (1 UK, 1US) accepting pre-orders with an expected availability in March 2016. Of course, no warranty... Due to your time constraint, I suggest you get in touch with your nearest Leica store or authorized dealer. They can well have started a waiting list and you'd better be at the top of it. Jean-Pierre
Guest Alxndr Posted January 1, 2016 Share #3 Posted January 1, 2016 Hi there Jean-Pierre, If true that would be great. Good to hear. And your advice about preordering is sound - I will follow that, thanx. Any corroboration about March will be appreciated of course. And I wonder whether Leica has a "record" with regard to announcements like this and the ultimate reality. Do they announce conservative for example? Finally: if there any Leica employees reading this post... Regards, Alexander
JPP1 Posted January 1, 2016 Share #4 Posted January 1, 2016 And I wonder whether Leica has a "record" with regard to announcements like this and the ultimate reality. Do they announce conservative for example? The 11-23 was announced during Photokina 2014 with an availability date set to January 2015. I got mine from a Leica store in Paris on February 3, 2015. The store had received them the week before. The initial batch is generally quite small. Of course, just personal experience. YMMV! J-P
