LexS Posted January 2, 2016 Share #21 Posted January 2, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) FYI.. From Leica... "There are third parties offering a strap system for neck and wrist straps for the Leica T camera (e.g. Match Technical T-Strap Lug Kit). These products can cause severe damage to the Leica T camera. Those damages will not be covered by the camera warranty and/or the Leica Camera Guarantee, because legally they do not apply to damages caused by third party products. Due to this fact, Leica Camera AG will not cover any of the costs for damages that might occur due to these third party products. For the avoidance of customer care problems, we strongly recommend to use the original straps only." Fot your information, these Lug Straps are Produced by Match Technical and officially for sale by Leica In the Leica stores.

Louis Posted January 4, 2016 Share #25 Posted January 4, 2016 (edited) Yes Sir, the very item I ordered. Enjoy it! I have the same! BTW, I saw in the photo of your cameras that you are using the wrist strap on the right side of the camera, like most of the people.... Are you right handed? If so, then you need your right hand to be free ; and therefore, since you would hold the camera with your left hand, anyway, when you are shooting, have you ever tried to put the wrist strap on the camera's left side? I am right handed too, and I feel much more comfortable with the strap on my left wrist so I have my right hand free for everything else! TheHobbit Posted January 4, 2016 Author Share #32 Posted January 4, 2016 Just to update... The price of the lug pins is about USD 40. The Leica order number is 18807 and since it's a new accessory, it will take about a month to arrive here in Taiwan. Will update more once I receive them. I ordered 2 sets. Louis I don't think they are exactly the same product at least from branding point of view In the uk official one is priced at £30 the march technical one £33 Leica T Universal Strap Lug Silver https://www.cliftoncameras.co.uk/Leica-T-Universal-Strap-Lug-Silver Match Technical Strap Lug Kit for Leica T http://www.reddotcameras.co.uk/t-accessories/7684-match-technical-strap-lug-kit-for-leica-t.html

In Miami-Leica, they had the same box and label before, too.... Now, is it possible that Leica AG is introducing and publicizing the same lugs with their own images; or, what MT is telling us is not true?... I compared the ones I have from MT with those that came with my T, and they look exactly the same!... If the ones we see in the Leica sites are not made by MT, is their quality and safety better?... I guess we will learn sooner and later! Edited January 4, 2016 by Louis2
can-photo Posted January 11, 2016 Share #35 Posted January 11, 2016 I just received it today. So it is definitely not match one's but they look exactly the same Welcome, dear visitor! Louis Posted January 11, 2016 Share #36 Posted January 11, 2016 (edited) But where is it made? In Germany; or is it the same as we were talking about, re- badged for leica? Could you, please, post us a picture of inside the box? Also, what was the price? Thanks! Edited January 11, 2016 by Louis2

Could you, please, post us a picture of inside the box? Also, what was the price? Thanks! Inside it is just a foam with lugs. It is made in China on the back of the package. The price was cheaper than the match one's see my links above, but I suspect that's probably the shipping cost to uk, the match could be less expensive in the us. Welcome, dear visitor! Louis Posted January 11, 2016 Share #38 Posted January 11, 2016 Now, the real question is: is it "better", "safer", or "stronger" than the other one?...
gbealnz Posted January 11, 2016 Share #39 Posted January 11, 2016 I've finally decided I cannot use the silicone wrist-strap any longer, and will use a leather one instead. How to mount this though? I had thought of the new soon to be released Leica "posts", but when I clicked on the link ( http://leicastoremiami.com/products/leica-strap-lug-leica-t-silver#a_aid=4ec1e34531802 ) to see what the price was, and when they were available, I decided against this. I may still go back to PopFlash as per the link by Louis. Failing that, I will see if I can use the post that is part of the wrist-strap, it is cheaper than the genuine article, and in fact IS the genuine article.
