schimmey Posted December 25, 2015 Share #1 Posted December 25, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi All, I know there have been previous threads re. this but I am stumped by one particular field/tag which appears to be correctly written in the file but when it comes to viewing the image in lightroom it reads differently. I have been using exiftool to rewrite metadata on images created by the M240 where the lens has been recorded incorrectly. I have been able to overwrite using strings - not code (which seems to be what is suggested in the forum). When I use exiftool to read the data (exiftool -G image.dng) all lens tags come up with the correct lens. When I view the image in LR it is a different lens (it reads the original despite it being nowhere to be seen in exiftool). Can anyone advise? Thanks. Echo63 Posted December 27, 2015 Share #2 Posted December 27, 2015 Did you import the photos into lightroom before rewriting the lenses in EXIF ?
Abram Posted December 29, 2015 Share #3 Posted December 29, 2015 I know within Lightroom you usually have to select the files and say "read metadata from files" to have it update the info. I liked to use Lenstagger which runs through exif tool but it hasn't been supported yet in OS X 10.11 unfortunately so I haven't been able to utilize it. I use Lenstagger under OS X 10.11, through LR 6.3. You have just to install exiftool and to set the field 'exiftool' accordingly.
