Winedemonium Posted December 12, 2015 Share #1 Posted December 12, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Mounted the Novoflex LET /CONT adaptor together with the 2.8/85mm Contax Zeiss Sonnar. Both lens and adaptor clicked and secure. Camera is reading the light just fine (giving a changing shutter speed reading as I tilt the camera into and out of the light. However, the sensor reading is blank - both the rear screen and the EVF. What am I doing wrong please ? Welcome, dear visitor! Winedemonium Posted December 12, 2015 Author Share #2 Posted December 12, 2015 hmmm.... I tried one more time detaching and re-attaching everything, and got it to work. So I guess the camera is quite sensitive to a positive connection to the lens or adaptor. Early days with this camera. If I encounter this problem again I'll report back. Anyone else had issues attaching adaptors or third party lenses?
FMB Posted December 12, 2015 Share #3 Posted December 12, 2015 Excuse me for asking this... Have you left the cap on your lens? Francisco.
dgktkr Posted December 12, 2015 Share #4 Posted December 12, 2015 I've had a couple of strange lockups. One was like you described except it didn't involve an adapter or third party lens. I was using the 24-90 zoom. Turning the camera off with the main switch and turning it back on cleared that one. Another one was where the back LCD was stuck in review mode and the camera wouldn't respond to any of the buttons. Not even the main on/off switch! The LCD continued to stay illuminated with an image ... for more than 10 seconds or so. It was then that I decided to do the reset of last resort: remove the battery! That did the trick. I put the battery back in and everything was back to normal. dgktkr

You might simply have been beyond the metering range and the displays showing severe underexposure.
Winedemonium Posted December 13, 2015 Author Share #6 Posted December 13, 2015 In the photo, the camera is reading ISO 400 and .6 second exposure. What was the aperture ring set to? You might simply have been beyond the metering range and the displays showing severe underexposure. When I moved the camera around the shutter speed value changed according to the brightness of the light. So the camera was metering the incoming light, but both the rear display and the EVF did not display any image. I tried the usual things - switch on/off, take the battery out, re-attach the adaptor and lens, and eventually it worked. Francisco - yes, lens cap was off. Otherwise there would be no metering reading. I have not experienced this with the M with third party adaptors.
ramarren Posted December 13, 2015 Share #7 Posted December 13, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Interesting. Just a one-time glitch, I hope. I wouldn't worry about it if it doesn't recur.
