Cliff S Posted December 7, 2015 Share #1 Posted December 7, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) On my T and Q, it automatically will continually auto focus based on what I'm pointing at. With the SL, using the SL 24-90 lens, only in Auto(face) will it do it. In AFs and AFc it stays on what I focussed on by half pressing the shutter. Even when I move the camera to focus on something else. It will only focus with a shutter half press. I'm missing something. How can I have it just focus automatically on what I'm pointing at without half-pressing the shutter button or going into face detection focus mode? Advertisement Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Hi Cliff S, Take a look here Video AF with SL 24-90. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
digitalfx Posted December 7, 2015 Share #2 Posted December 7, 2015 Sounds like they way it should work for video. You wouldn't want AF to be constantly changing focus while recording.
ramarren Posted December 7, 2015 Share #3 Posted December 7, 2015 Best I can find is to set the AE/AF button to AF only and use it to initiate AF in AFc mode. There is no option to turn on AFc as continuous without initiating it via one button press or another that I can see.
