MM1 SD Card Issues

I purchased a 64GB Samsung MicroSDXC card with adapter for Black Friday and installed it in my MM1 only to find that it wouldn't recognize or format. I checked forums to see if there was some fix and nothing worked for me.

I tried formatting first in both MAC and PC using exFat, NTFS....nothing worked. The MM1 simply would recognize or format it. I then tried formatting a 32GB Wintec card and two 8GB SanDisk cards...all of which didn't format or recognize in the MM1.....

I then inserted the 64GB Samsung card into my M8 and it formatted....then did the same with the above cards...all formatted without any problem at all.

I then took the formatted cards from the M8 and put them in the MM1 and they are all working now.

All the cards are now recognized by the MM1 and I am now able to format them in the MM1.

Just thought this might help someone.

Moral of the story....don't sell your M8, you may need it.   :)

PS.....I also upgraded the firmware in the MM1 to 1.008 while I was at it....so far no issues

Why would you use an Micro SD card? Not only is the extra connection in the adapter dodgy, the cards themselves are not as reliable either.

Get a Panasonic Pro 16 GB and you are ready to go.

The Samsung was the only Micro card, all the rest were full size SD cards so that wasn't the issue with the MM1 not recognizing.... but point taken about the additional connection with the adapter...
