Very nice captures guys.

 

Keith, sometimes you just can't substitute an UWA, even outdoor, with a longer focal length. Indeed the lack of compression due to the capture distance might make things look detached.

 

Anyway, here are a few "normal" looking pictures with the ZM 15:

Agreed, which is why I said Given the constraints of the subject. Given those constraints I prefer a more natural perspective.

 

As a painter I feel the perspective of UWA lenses is just so...well...photographic. ;)

As a painter I feel the perspective of UWA lenses is just so...well...photographic. ;)

But isn't that kind of the point? It is a photograph after all.

 

On the other hand, when not used well they can make very mundane 'forced' photos, so I see your point.

Yes. I think it has something to do with our 'natural' way of expecting the perspective to relate to the square of eye level.

It's not all about saturated colours, this pattern is entirely generated using simple bricks.
