Actually, I plan to use the Mamiya 300mm (with the 2x converter) on the S, but the SL is an excellent test-machine, given its ability to precisely set the focus (and to have full control of exposure). Did you use Novoflex Nikon F to SL adapter and if yes does the AF work? Also if AF does work for the lens, does it also work even with the teleconverter attached? Thanks for any info you may provide. Yes, I used the Novoflex SL/NIK autofocus adapter for this shot.  AF-S is decent with the bare lens and tolerable with the 1.4X; but slows a bit and hunts more with the TC-14E III attached. The better the light, the better the performance.  Performance is, for me, unacceptably slow with spotty accuracy even in the best lighting conditions with the TC-17E II attached.

The Nikon 300mm f4 PF is a very fine, small and light weight alternative for static photogr with the SL. I prefer to use it with a manual adapter, allowing 11 fps. For AF, the Electronic adapter is the way to go.

For AF, the Electronic adapter is the way to go. I generally got better results (and longer battery life) using a manual adapter to bridge the SL and 300PF.  But after losing one shot too many, I added a Z7 to the arsenal for use with the 300PF.  I take Leica's native lens offerings for the SL as implying its intended use, so I've stopped trying to shoehorn it into shooting long telephoto, good as it may be on the too-infrequent occasions when I've been able to nail the shot.

caissa Posted March 25, 2019 Share #498 Â Posted March 25, 2019 Canon has a 135mm f4 macro and tilt-shift lens. I noticed it today, so for me it is new. Maybe it exists already for a while. So I would like to ask if anybody has used this lens - maybe even adapted to the SL. Thanks for reporting your experiences.
