Had an image I liked, taken on film

Thought to see what the SL would make of it.  Had to push the saturation up quite a long way in C1 to get something similar (compared with reducing saturation in the film version).  Interesting to see what a difference the absence of film grain makes.

... too difficult shot with a too short tripod as could not comfortably place my eye at the viewfinder when lens angled at 11 o'clock position. Plan to try again with a longer / sturdier tripod.  The 45m distance from pavement camera position was measured using a Leica laser rangefinder.

BW, dunk

@Ken Abrahams really enjoying your nuanced minimalist urban images Ken. Strong portfolio of work posted on that other site - what a resource for those who care to see the development of a photographer's eye and creativity over time.

My favourite photography is that which makes something  out of the seemingly ordinary every day 'stuff' of life.

Cheers

Pete

Thank you for your kind words Peter. I presume you mean the 500px site https://500px.com/p/abrahams1?view=photos

Yes, there is a twelve year chronological representation of my work. I have left images on there that I don't really like now but were a part of the process of learning digital photography from scratch. 10 years ago was when I started photographing again after a thirty year hiatus.

Best

Ken

Shot in the office, with a 75mm nokton and one light. Not sure if the photo is suitable for “linkedin”, but I really like how the guy came out…

I really love the two shots showing women as the subject. Great use of composition ie structure, formality (if the is a thing) and post production work. Excellent work. Ken

Man Unashamedly Tired - I first passed the man when I arrived to the City walking past him not bothering with taking his photograph. About an hour later when I was returning to the train station he was still holding this position. Someone was attempting to wake him, there is a permanent police van some 50 metres further up and they weren't interested. The poor man may develop a bad back from the way he was lying or become sunburnt in the winter sun. I decided to take the shot this time and someone made vigorous attempts to wake him. In my experience people don't like to be woken, they don't like to come "out of hiding" and face reality so that stay as they are, pretending not to hear by resuming their seemingly unconscious state.
