Can someone point me to directions on how to reduce photo file size so I can upload photos here?

In case you use Lightroom, go to

    File -> Export

and use settings a la those in the image below. In case you are a non-paying forum member, you are allowed to upload a file of max 500 kb; if you are a paying forum member, max size is 1000 kb. Usually, I don't set the max file size; I rather adjust the number of pixels of the image so that the image size is below 500 or 1000 kb. For me, as a paying forum member, that means somewhere between 950 and 1200 pixels along the long side of the image.

Similar procedure holds for other post processing software.

Perfect.  Just what I was looking for.  Thanks

Yes - I like it anyway. Best in B&W as the colours can be slightly strange - I had to warm this pic up a little. I bought it very cheaply in Russia but then had to spend a bit of money getting the focus ring stripped and re-lubed as it was very stiff. Lovely background softness wide-open - it can be beautiful on the Monochrom.

Yes, the background rendering is striking :) We have an Industar 50 lieing about. It is stiff like hell. Don't know what cod-liver oil they were using. Maybe, it is worth a try to get it in gear.
