what kind of adaptor do you need for a m42 mount lens, is it huge?

My M42 to SL adapter is 62mm diameter, 30mm deep … visible depth when mounted is 25mm.

No bigger than most other SL adapters

I regret, that you cannot enjoy the adorable fragrant of this rose. However ... here is a photograph, I share, before it is completely off :)

First time use Leica R 80-200mm & Leitz APO Extender R 2x  with Leica SL 601.  Effective 400mm f8 1/250sec ISO 1600, 18.12hrs … Bank Vole less than 5 feet distance. Camera on Jobu Design gimbal /Manfrotto tripod. I was sitting at ground level after baiting known Bank Vole habitat at Swaddywell Nature Reserve, Peterborough UK with seed and nuts. The 80-200mm R lens has excellent close focus capability - no tubes required.  Bank Vole habitat is under a bush - thus Lastolite reflector required to reflect sunlight into the subject area. Waited from 15.00 to 17.30hrs in front of habitat before any Bank Voles appeared … then suddenly several appeared … and a rabbit . No hide used; I sit quietly and still and pray that something will be attracted to the seed and nuts.

the pine needles are crazy sharp in the full size version of this, I can just imagine what this lens would be like on a S1R with 47MB and IBIS, happy with the bokeh too

I own all three of the SL Crons - 35, 75, and 90, and they are all stellar on the SL and on the S1R.
