For the last month I've been following a musical theatre group rehearsing for a new production. I've watched them go from sitting down for a read-through, through developing choreography and fight scenes to (now) acting it out without the scripts. As they are in the 16-21 age bracket, and the musical has been written for them, it has been great to watch their enthusiasm and energy grow.

All shot with Leica SL and mainly the 24-90 zoom - some of the earlier sequences are with the 90-280, but that is less needed as I have been able to move around them without distracting them while they're still uncertain.

For focus I used a fairly equal balance of face recognition (close ups), spot/field (complex groups) and manual focus (wide scenes with large groups).

I have obtained signed model release forms for all the cast.

Summicron-SL 2/75... A mind-blowing lens for still photography.

Very nice indeed.  Would you remember the aperture you used and at what distance?  The DoF is just about right!

APO-Summicron-SL 2/75 in the rain.

The 75-SL is a beauty, little doubt about that. And put in good hands, it shines, literally speaking...

Our new Brain Sciences buiiding.  Big Opening Ceremonies in a few days, but probably some months more to get everyone moved in.  The atrium uses a metaphor that started with the Salk Institute in La Jolla.

Outside, they decided instead of plain black glass, to simulate neurons as seen in a Golgi stain:

Opinions on the result range from OK to "tacky."  But the students are hard at work getting their labs moved over.

Nice photos and I like the building.  I think that screen with 'neutrons' is actually quite good, specially if it is on a facade facing the heat (West, South ?).

The architect is Foster and Partners I believe - I just googled it:
