Are thes pics processed from single pics or mutiple pics HDR?

No HDR etc. Development only in LR with only moderate use of clarity etc. Just applied some "split toning" and white balance set on 10000K to achieve this look.

Regards, Holger

Thanks. The third one, in particular, has a look from the 50ies - nice!

Very cool work. I was thinking of this lens for landscape only....it appears equally at home on the street. Wonder if it could be pressed into reportage and how might people react to a "pro" looking camera and lens when compared to the M10 for example?

The M10 is a purist photographic tool and so are the optically marvelous M lenses. The system calls for a competent user with patience and grace. I say so cause as much as I would to pick up my M10 and start manual focusing, and accepting the range of lenses more suited for usage are shorter in focal length and not talk about incorporating fill in lights....

On the other end, the SL system with native lenses cover wider focal length coupled with efficiency & convenience of AF, weather seal and having to change lenses less often and not to mention that the SL lenses do indeed produce more desirable images over the marvelous M lenses. Although one can say the M lenses are more characteristic but I personally see the pics produced by the SL lenses at a different level.

So instead of comparing both M & SL system, I’ve decided keeping both to complement each other allowing me to use the SL as workhorse and the M as my soul mate ( to forgive myself of shooting more out of focused shots,...but still love the gear).

First one is the real thing - I am sure, you will recognize it - the other two

An embassy in Jerusalem...

This is what an embassy in Jerusalem ought to look like, but it's not.  The lovely Salameh Villa, built in the 1930's, has been the residence of the Belgian Consul-General since 1948.  It's on a street which also contains the Israeli President's residence and the Academy of Sciences.

Last week, the US consulate in Jerusalem was re-designated the US embassy in Jerusalem.  That's a hotel on the left.  The consulate is on the right.  Most of what you see is the parking garage:

Flags along the streets leading to the consulate make it easier to locate (it has been a bit hard to find in the past, as it is located in the far south east of the city):

And there were joint displays of Israeli and US flags, like these now at the consulate, on show throughout the city.

But the only visible change to date is this plaque:

By the weekend, the US flags in the rest of Jerusalem have been replaced by a less showy display of flags of Panama, whose officials are in town next week.
