Agree; seems like you like your 50 SL-Lux...!

Don't get me started! I just posted on another thread how embarrassed I am that I ever said anything against this lens. All those comments I made about it being just a silly expensive and crazy huge AF version of the M equivalent and how the lens rendering wasn't even that nice.....I am so ashamed. I was so wrong.

This lens is just sublime. I mean don't get me wrong it can behave pretty poorly if you feed it wrong; it can look way too oversaturated and I quite often find myself reducing the contrast where previously I would always tend to increase the contrast. It's also pretty fickle with b&w conversion; you have to opt for the high contrast b&w look as the middle ground just lacks subtlety of tonal range. But in soft pre sunrise/sunset light or if you temper bold, conrasty light just after/before sunrise/sunset, then it's a thing of beauty. I'm so happy with it.

Hello everybody.

I have been following this forum since pre-M8 days, so I thought it’s about time to sign up for membership and be a part of the community that has fostered my interest in Leica cameras.

I would like to further introduce myself, but I’ll let the image below do the full introduction. Hope it measures up to the standards set by the fine images I’ve been seeing on this forum and in this thread.

Best regards,

WhippingPost
